Индустриальная тема в собрании художественно- го музея крупного промышленного города в совет- ский период играла едва ли не ключевую роль: смыс- лообразующую и локально-идентификационную. В постперестроечные десятилетия богатый и обшир- ный материал промышленной темы был вытеснен на периферию, стал невостребованным. Причина оче- видна: за более чем полувековую историю много- численные индустриальные ландшафты и образы рабочих-металлургов успели набить зрителю оско- мину. Но сегодня они воспринимаются иначе – с лег- ким налётом ностальгии и искренним восхищением героикой эпохи. Выставка «Подвиг по плану» представляет ин- дустриальную тему в искусстве Урала, начиная со строительно-промышленного бума первых пятиле- ток и заканчивая заказными работами 1970–1980-х годов. Это проект, включающий (наряду с выставкой живописных произведений из собрания Екатерин- бургского музея изобразительных искусств) широ- кий срез документальных материалов из частных и заводских архивов, а также мультимедийную часть – виртуальный тур, представляющий наиболее вы- разительные картины музейной коллекции в про- странстве реальных заводских цехов. Сегодняшний проект – это попытка взглянуть на некогда расти- ражированные образы рабочих новым, освобождён- ным взглядом, актуализируя такие проблемы, как совпадение/несовпадение вымышленного образа

The industrial theme in the collection of a Soviet-era art museum in a large industrial city in many ways used to be the main one: both in terms of the creation of meaning and local identification. In the post-Pertestoika decades the rich and expansive material of the industrial theme was no longer in demand and became relegated to the margins. The reason for that was obvious: after fifty plus years, countless industrial landscapes and images of steel workers were a sure way of setting one’s teeth on edge. Today, however, they are perceived in a different way— with a light patina of nostalgia and a sincere admiration for the heroic pathos of the epoch. The exhibition “Feat According to Plan” represents the industrial theme in the arts of the Urals, from the construction and industrial boom of the first five-year plans to themade-to-order works of the 1970s–1980s.This project includes, along with the exhibition of paintings from the collections of the Ekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts, a wide representation of documentary materials from private and factory archives, as well as a multimedia component—a virtual tour of the most expressive museum paintings on display in real factory workshops. Today’s project is an attempt to look at the once endlessly replicated images of workers with a new and free eye, actualizing such problems as coincidence or non-coincidence of the painted fictional image of a hero- worker with its real Ural counterpart, personal memories and their alteration, the theme’s biased presentation in art and the sincerity of the artist.
