of 1927, which was held in VKHUTEMAS, and presents works of many Soviet architects as well as works of students of architectural schools – VKHUTEMAS (Higher Art and Technical Studios), Odessa Polytechnic Institute, Leningrad Institute of Civil Engineers, Kiev Art Institute and Tomsk Polytechnic Institute. The authors of this retrospection had an aim to gather the materials remaining from the first exhibition of the «Contemporary Architecture» in 1927, to present them and to communicate the spirit of the time and place, to present the modern architectural society with the avant-garde past, which still serves as a source of inspiration for new architects graduating the Moscow Architectural Institute, located in the same building where formerly the legendary VKHUTEMAS was located. The exposition has been divided into subject zones: the works of masters (Vesnin brothers, Golosov brothers, Alexey Shchusev, G. Barkhin), setup of the «Contemporary Architecture» magazine and photocopies of its pages (Alexey Gan), the project entitled «Lenin Institute» by the winner of the exhibition, Ivan Leonidov, a retrospective of halls of the Union of Contemporary Architects and the foreign department. Replicas of projects by Moisei Ginzburg (a communal-residence house – A1) and Ivan Leonidov (Lenin Institute) have been prepared by students of the Moscow Architectural Institute. In his artistic career he constantly utilized the developments in computer technology to achieve visual directness and ever greater lyrical power and depth in his artworks. The title of the exhibition refers to both his use of computer technologies and to his efforts of creating a personal visually rich world that exists in parallel to the reality.
