The Modern Jewish Museum in San-Francisco is located in the cultural environment on the regener- ated territory of the former power station. Clad by blue steel panels, reflecting the sky light, the new building with the total area of 63 000 sq.ft. is an ideal place for galleries, performances and educational programs. The new building conveys the main idea of the Museum – to be a lively center attracting the people of different ages to get acquainted with the Jewish culture. The building offers an updated expositional program, including modern art, histori- cal artifacts, movies, music, scientific researches offering a new approach to the development of the Jewish history and the accumulated experience. The Museum will definitely take its special place in Yerba Buena, one of the richest cultural districts. If we speak about its exterior, the feature of the Mu- seum is not the unusual form of the building (which is typical to Lebeskind’s projects), but the blue steel cladding.
