Давид Саркисян, руководивший Музеем архитектуры с 2000 года до своей смер‑ ти в 2010 году, предложил московским архитекторам игру по мотивам Первого симфонического ансамбля — экспери‑ ментального музыкального коллектива 1920–1930-х годов, в котором не было дирижёра. Архитектурный Персимфанс заключался в том, что выставка архитек‑ торов обходилась без куратора и темы. Каждый мог сделать в своём углу кор‑ пуса «Руина» то, что считал нужным. Приглашённые к участию в выставке Buromoscow, тогда работавшие только четыре года, взяли тему типового жи‑ лья. В этот момент грядущие масштабы строительства недвижимости в Москве можно было только предугадывать, а та‑ кие программы как реновация могли бы появиться в качестве смелой «бумаж‑ ной» спекуляции, но не плана действий.

David Sarkisian, who directed the Shchu‑ sev Museum of Architecture from the year 2000 and until his death in 2010, suggested a game for the Moscow architects to play, which was based on the idea of the First Symphonic Ensemble (Persimfans) — an experimental music band of the 1920-1930’s that had no conductor or bandleader. The Architectural Persimfans’s idea was to set up an architecture exhibition without a facili‑ tator or any topics. Each participant could use their corner of the “Ruin” facility as they saw fit. One of the invitees — Buromoscow, which by then had been in existence for no more than four years — chose the topic of standard plan housing projects. At this point the future scope of housing construction in Moscow could be no more than anticipated and such renovation-type programs could appear in the form of a bold “paper” specu‑ lation, but not of an action plan.
