The new terminal of Simferopol International Airport was opened on 16 April 2018.

The architectural conception has been developed by Samoo Architects & Engineers from

South Korea; Akons Pro company has been the general contractor. The terminal that

catches one’s eye with its complicated wave-shaped form has been erected in a very

short time — 22 months. It has received more than 5 mn passengers during its first

year. In 2019, it entered Air Getaway of Russia contest supported by NAIS and won Best

Airport 2018 award in its category. It also took Best Design prize according to the viewers’

request. The new terminal has been engineered and carried out as a comfortable

environment that turns your trip into a pleasant experience. The airport terminal becomes

a part of a passenger’s holidays, which start when he or she goes through the landside

park to reach the terminal or walks out at the outdoor viewpoint. The project can

be considered to be one of the best specimens of airport redevelopment in recent years.

It is important to note that the majority of construction ideas and materials have been

manufactured by Russian producers.
