Первое впечатление издалека – это напоминающий золотое обла- ко объем на фоне парка, доминирующий в городской среде. Дробле- ние общей массы здания на два прямоугольных объема, стоящих друг на друге, создает дополнительный под-масштаб, что перекликается с существующим городским контекстом. Направленность здания усили- вает первоначальную градостроительную ориентацию, при этом поз- воляет использовать многочисленные виды на реку и на город. Новый музей представляет собой ансамбль трехмерных элементов, каждый из которых ставится поверх другого. Объемы располагаются в шахматном порядке, для того, чтобы позволить каждому компонен- ту проявить себя и обеспечить освещение каждого выставочного про- странства естественным дневным светом. Здание, состоящее из мно- гочисленных компонентов, отражает взгляд на философию музея как на конгломерат коллекций и подходов. Сдвиг объемов создает силь- ное визуальное напряжение как снаружи, так и внутри, эффекты отра- жения, игры света и тени на внешней поверхности здания. The first impression from the distance is a volume, dominat- ing the city environment. It reminds a golden cloud against the background of the park. The fragmentation of the lump of the building into two rectangular volumes standing on each other, creates an additional subscale, which resonates with the exist- ing city context. The orientation of the building strengthens the initial town-planning orientation, allowing to utilize the numerous views on the riverbed and on the city. The new Museum represents an ensemble of three-dimension- al elements, each of which is put atop of the other. The volumes are located in a checkerboard order, which gives an opportunity to each component to display itself and to ensure proper illu- mination of each exhibition space by the natural daylight. The building consists of numerous components and reflects the at- titude to the museum philosophy as to a conglomerate of col- lections and approaches. The shift of volumes creates a strong visual tension both outside, and inside. The reflection effects and the interaction of light and dark enhance the outlines of the building’s external surfaces. The interior composition is based on the opposition of the well-defined rectangular exhibi- tion spaces and more complex shapes of the foyers, the passag- es for the visitors and the atrium with its free soft forms.
