В основу проекта легло понимание город- ской среды как «музея под открытым небом», где не должно быть «проходных» построек. От- сюда появилось желание не реставрировать старое здание 1913 года постройки с зауряд- ным фасадом, но построить новый дом, повто- рив в нем тему исторического фасада в новом качестве и новых материалах, смягчив тем са- мым ситуацию «вживания» дома в историче- скую среду. Автор обернул жесткий каркас сте- клянной структуры светлой «каменной тканью», которая демонстрирует консервативной среде свой мягкий «теплый» характер, одновременно являя образ дома-крепости.

The basis of the project was the understand- ing of the urban environment as an “open air mu- seum”, where there should not be any average buildings. This is where the desire emerged not to restore the old building with an average facade, but to build a new house, repeating the historical facade theme with new quality and new materi- als, thus smoothing the situation of embedding the house into the historical environment. The author wrapped the hard framework of the glass structure with the light “stone tissue” that demon- strates its mild “warm” character to the conserva- tive environment, while appearing a fortress-type house.
