Проект был сделан для российского пави- льона на XII Венецианской биеннале архитекту- ры. Вместо заказанного театра и жилых домов была предложена комплексная реконструкция центральной части города – в частности, двух островов в излучине Цны, а также прилегаю- щих территорий. По результатам анализа си- туации было решено сделать всю архитектуру ландшафтной, имитирующей естественный ре- льеф с его плавными линиями. На большем по площади острове композиционной доминан- той становится открытый амфитеатр, действие в котором разворачивается на фоне природы. Меньший остров полностью превращен в парк.

The project was developed for the Russian pa- vilion on the XII Venetian Architecture Biennale. Instead of the ordered theater and residential buildings, the authors suggested a complex re- construction of the city’s central part – in particu- lar, two islands in the curve of the Tsna and the adjacent areas. After considering the results of the case analysis, it was suggested that all architecture should be made landscape, imitating the natural terrain with its smooth lines. The compositional dominator of the bigger island is the open amphi- theater, where the play is performed against the background of the nature. The smaller island has been completely transformed into the park.
