Kremlin Palace of Congresses, Moscow, 1961 . The palace, with its calm, rigorous, and formal forms that submit to the preexisting volumes and rhythms of the surrounding area, nevertheless provides an effective contrast with a group of historical buildings of centuries past. Its glass facade, interrupted by marble pillars, reflects the domes of Kremlin cathedrals. The Kremlin panorama is welcomed into the interiors of the new palace. Подчиненный в своих общих массах и ритме сложившемуся окружению, Дворец, формы которого спо- койны, строги и торжественны, вместе с тем образует эффектный контраст с группой зданий прошлых столетий. В его расчлененных мраморными пилонами стеклянных стенах отражаются главы кремлевских соборов, панора- ма Кремля как бы включается в интерьеры. Ощущение связи времен получает конкретное выражение. А.
