Аэропорт «Звартноц», Ереван, Армения. 1980 . Кольцевое здание, разомкнутый кольцевой двор, круглое здание в его центре и возвышающий- ся над ними круглый ресторан с диспетчерской башней. Все это «расчерчено» ритмами наклонных бетонных опор и остеклений, способствующих созданию запоминающегося облика сооружения. Моя рецензия на этот комплекс называлась «Звонкое имя «Звартноц». Так именуется круглый храм VII века, руины которого сохрани- лись в Эчмиадзине, расположенном неподалеку от аэропорта. Ф. Новиков Zvartnotz International Airport, Yerevan, Armenia, 1980 . with the control tower hovering over them – all are accentuated by the rhythm of the leaning concrete pylons and glaz- ing, contributing to the memorable profile of the structure. My review of this complex was called “Resounding Zvart- notz.” It referred to the associations of this project with the seventh-century round church that once stood in nearby Echmiadzim, the ruins of which have survived.
