D esigners Tatiana Pestovskikh and Olga Phillipova speak of their partnership as the “friendship cemented by the personal life experience”. They had their time to become the acclaimed designers on the Ural interior design market before their creative collective was launched on 2008. In the beginning of naughties Olga worked with Vladimir Sleptsov and Elena Simonova, and was also offering the private interior design services. Tatiana has worked with Tatiana Zhuikhova for almost 10 years before switching to the individual practice. Due to the recognizable style and serious work approach Tatiana was overloaded with offers by the beginning of 2008. It was almost unmanageable to make it through on her own. So she offered Olga Phillipova to join in; the two met on a trip to the Bologna professional exhibition. Their first collaborative project was the interior design for the Legislative assembly of Sverdlovsk region. It worked out so well that now designers are doing the projects in collaboration only. A s Tatiana and Olga say, the reason their union is that successful is lying in their confidence. They both are sure that by working together they are not pursuing their own ambitions and principles, but are focusing on the tasks set by the client and the ways to make these concepts real. Anyhow, two minds are better than one. Designers have formulated their communal principles very fast indeed, and the main principle is the focused attention to the proportions and color mixing. Pestovskikh and Philippova work with creative studios often; those, which focus on the production of wooden, forged, textile and stained-glass items; workers of these help with the development of new finishing materials. T he confidence and assurance in a simple idea of the beautiful interior changing not only the quality of life but the inner world of the inhabitant as well, makes interiors of Pestovskikh and Phillipova very individual. Designers do believe that by touching the real beauty people experience a strong wish to create new things, find their identity and abandon social fears. So it is no wonder that clients keep on coming back to them.
