in the new project, the building smoothly extending the coastline, as if rising from beneath the water. 835 million dollars were spent for construction of this building in white marble, which stands on the shore, on a platform shaped like a small peninsula protruding into the fjord in the very heart of the Norwegian capital. The outline of a slightly sloping roof dominates the composition of building rising out of the sea. It looks like a top of a snow-white iceberg; the energetic tense diagonals and white- ness of the walls remind of the planes of a drifting glacier. Architects themselves refer to the slightly sloped roof as the «fifth wall»; one can climb to the top of the theatre and enjoy the view.
