Перед архитектором стояла задача – почти вдвое увеличить уже существующий, постро- енный ранее дом. Вместо того чтобы менять уже существующую постройку, проектировщик оставил прежнее жилье в целости, дополнив его новым корпусом, похожим на парящий космический корабль. Легкость и воздушность новой постройки подчеркнута большим количеством остекления. Дом, по свидетельству его автора, для клиентов – способ выра- жения индивидуальности семейства. Так он и создавался, а для того чтобы лучше понять заказчика и отразить его идентичность, архитектор тесно подружился с семьей Аланов. Судя по архитектурным приемам, использованным в новом доме, все ее члены весьма общительны – архитектор оставил гостиную открытой с двух сторон, будто свидетельс- твуя об этом качестве хозяев. Таким образом, гостиная незаметно сливается с террасой, что удивительно смелый шаг, ведь перед нами не образец загородной резиденции, а дом в одном из центральных районов Лос-Анджелеса. Впрочем, архитектор лишь отразил философию современных жителей мегаполиса, которых ничуть не смущает нахождение в центре событий. Denari Architects enthusiastically undertakes both public and small private orders, having an intention to surprise with new shapes rather than with scale or purpose of constructions. Alan Family House is a good example of such. Aiming at reflecting the identity and nature of the family, architect Neil Denari has revealed his personal tastes and his fondness to unusual and sometimes cosmic shapes. The architect was asked to double the 1100 square feet area of the existing house, which was no longer enough for the growing family.
