disciplinary view of architecture, learning from art and music praxis. Their work tend to run along the lines of displacing, or “decontextualizing”, one or more components of the reality that become projects and indexed forms. In 2000, Block became an ar- chitectural firm, allowing the group to develop its work in operational contexts. Block is prize winner of “the new album of young architects” granted by the Culture Min- istry of France. Block is prize winner of the “envers des villes” grant, granted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France. Block has been nominated for the “first building award” of the Editions du Moniteur. In 2002 Block took part in the Venice Biennale of Architecture.

Block – это три архитектора, работающих в сотрудни- честве: Денис Брийе, Бенуа Фийон и Паскаль Риффо. Фактически студия была основана в 1996 году, когда они незаконно заняли бомбоубежище, оставшееся после второй мировой войны. Это место и превра- тилось в их рабочее пространство. Они практикуют междисциплинарный подход к архитектуре под влия- нием искусства и музыки. Тенденция их проектов – ис- пользование искажений или «деконтекстуализации» одного или более компонентов реальности, которые выливаются в проекты и упорядоченные формы. В 2000 году студия получила официальный статус, а архитекторы − возможность работать в реальной рабочей обстановке. Block является обладательни- цей премии «Новый альбом молодых архитекторов» Министерства культуры Франции, гранта «Обратная сторона городов» Министерства иностранных дел Франции. Студия была представлена к премии из- дания Editions du Moniteur за первый реализованный проект здания. В 2002 году студия участвовала в Вене- цианской архитектурной биеннале.
