A graduate of Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, Philippe Rahm is head of his own bureau Philippe Rahm Architectes. The central notion of Philippe Rahm’s work and his professional credo is meteorological architecture. When structuring existing space or trying to create new, the architects of the bureau, first of all, consider atmospheric peculiarities and climatic factors of the environment. As a result of this analytical approach that synthesizes visible physical peculiarities and invisible climatic characteristics, their architecture serves as an ‘adapter’ where the exchange between humans and the environment happens. The architecture is not only the interface ensuring our interrelation with the environment, it is also a full fledged participant of this interrelation. Выпускник Высшей политехнической школы в Лозанне Филипп Рам возглавляет соб- ственное бюро Philippe Rahm architectes. Центральное направление творчества и про- фессиональное кредо Филиппа Рама – метеорологическая архитектура. Структурируя существующее пространство и пытаясь создать новое, архитекторы бюро, прежде всего, учитывают атмосферные особенности и климатические факторы данной среды. В ре- зультате этого аналитического подхода, синтезирующего видимые физические особен- ности и невидимые климатические показатели, созданная ими архитектура служит неким «адаптером», в котором происходят обменные процессы между средой и человеком. Архитектура – не только интерфейс наших взаимоотношений со средой, но и их равно- ценный участник.
