The extremely rigid form of the house-cube is emphasized by a grating made of H-beam profiles that “hold” the whole structure. It also divides the facade into square cells measuring 2.4x2.4 meters each. However, this size does not correspond to the height of the floor, which is three meters. Thus, the fa- cade honeycomb draws an image of a four-story house while, actually, there are only three floors. The windows in different cells may belong to the same or different floors. This is quite confusing since it creates a particularly unexpected effect at dusk when the light is on. The empty cells of the cube are an indispensable part of this manipulation, and the terrace configuration distinguishes the cottages of this series from each other. Inside the house-cube is also permeated with spatial voids both horizon- tally and vertically. In the center of the volume there is a well in which a structurally independent metal staircase is located.
