The convex curvature of the roof makes the house look like a “station concourse”. The corrugated metal-clad side facade reminds a railway carriage. The tower built into the volume with an external metal staircase hints at vertical structures scattered along the railroad. Like other series of houses, the Depot is a typical example of industrial architecture, but this time it focuses on the railway theme. The main feature of this series is a large built-in terrace constructed under the same roof as the house. The terrace adjoins the public space inside the house, and is equal in size. It is intended for parties in the open air. In addition, it is complemented by a huge balcony on the second level under the same roof. The whole composition of the facades is easily perceived due to its fragmentation created by multidirectional planks, used as siding material. Thin overstrained metal supports of the “station con- course” echo the plank rhythm and completely fit into the context of the house image.
