Inside each house, the attention is attracted, first of all, by a huge fireplace trimmed with tiles pro- duced at the local enterprise: ceramics in the city of Konakovo have been made since 1809. In every other respect, it is a modern space with laconic forms, for decoration of which planks, concrete and glass are used. The peculiarity of the interior solution depends on the volumetric structure of the building: the den located on the second floor “hovers” as an independent insert in the double-height space of the living room. Its bottom plane is a luminous surface made of opaque glass, the two sides are transparent, thus adding visual height to the living room. Large windows actualize the house’s open character. Natural light pours from all sides, and the surrounding landscape organically pene- trates the internal environment.
