A group of simple, concise, fishing houses and rental cottages form a small «village in the village.» The human scale environment here is unusually comfortable: the houses are low, their proportions are mostly horizontal and elongated, there are numerous terraces forming cozy and quiet «bays». Frame buildings, which the Russians traditionally call “Finnish houses”, do not create the impression of low weight, since three-centimeter thick boards are chosen as siding materials. The groups are also com- bined by color, which plays an active role in every sense. The houses are subdivided into dark, imitat- ing old patinated wood, and grey, as if bleached by the sun and winds. The window arrangement is uniquely tailored for each house, although the general layout is the same for all of them. The windows are without transoms and mullions. They look like pure geometric forms, creating abstract composi- tions on the facades and linking the traditional image of the houses with modern times.
