The staircase was chosen as one of the main elements of the design. It links both the floors and spaces with different functions. It is not coincidental that the staircase is positioned exactly in the middle of the en- trance area rather than along a wall in order to save square meters of usable space. Such “waste of space” has proved to be completely justified: the stairs looks like a sculpture with “the plot twisting around it”. There is nothing monumental in the shape of the stairs. It doesn’t look like a heavy and highly functional element and is visually perceived as a lightweight, translucent and almost airy object that connects the first and sec- ond floors of penthouse. The first floor of the apartment is designed with a stricter rhythm in mind. The open plan design links together the living room and the kitchen, turning them into a common sitting area, where- as the bedroom, the dressing room and the bathroom are logically hidden from the eyes of strangers but stay in harmony with the general design concept and, just like the other rooms, face the stairs which, as has already been said, are the dominant feature in the entire living space. There is a small master office on the second floor. The interior here is not dominated by straight lines, and the wooden ceiling creates a cozy atmosphere. It is worth to mention the panoramic view of the city that opens from the office. This room is equally good for working and relaxing, this is a perfect place for indulging in contemplation of the beauty of the surround- ing landscapes.
